I decided to combine the students' Christmas party with the grand opening of the "Banana Buck Store." Students have been earning bucks since the start of the school year by following directions, completing assignments, getting correct answers in whole group discussions, etc. Now they had the opportunity to put some math and social skills to the test. The students shopped for items in the store and politely paid me for their purchase. They were all so respectful and kind, even helping out their friends buy something if they noticed they were a few bucks short!
Our book exchange was a hit! The kids loved getting their book from their "Secret Santa." It was a joyful time of giving and receiving!
We also got to enjoy some delicious treats and a fun craft led by my wonderful room moms! Thank you ladies for putting together a memorable party!
